Kitty Angel Rescue Brings Adoptable Pets in Need of Loving Homes During PetSmart Charities’ National Adoption Week

In-Person Adoption Events to Take Place at Local PetSmart Stores March 6 - 12
February 20, 2023 – POWDER SPRINGS, GA: Each year, more than five million pets enter animal shelters in need of loving homes. Today, pets are staying in shelters longer and many local shelters are struggling with stretched budgets and limited staffing. In partnership with PetSmart Charities, Kitty Angel Rescue will bring adoptable pets to Hiram PetSmart and Kennesaw PetSmart in support of National Adoption Week, taking place March 6 - 12, 2023.

During the in-store event, Kitty Angel Rescue invites pet lovers to make room in their homes for pets in need. PetSmart Charities also encourages people to consider adopting pets with special needs, like sweet Blinky and Bullseye. These two adorable kittens are three-month-old siblings who both lost an eye due to severe infection. Despite their physical difference, they are perfectly healthy and happy kittens who need loving homes!

“National Adoption Week is an ideal opportunity to give a pet in need what they need most – people to love,” said Heidi Fulcher, Sr. Adoptions Grant Manager at PetSmart Charities. “Pets with special needs, such as those recovering from injuries or living with limb differences, trauma recovery or physical limitations make wonderful additions to families. These resilient pets have a lot to teach us about the joy and value of caregiving.”
PetSmart Charities National Adoption Week is a special time during the year. PetSmart stores feature adoptable pets to meet and cuddle in spacious areas, and staff and volunteers are on- hand to make introductions and answer questions. Potential pet parents can also learn about the products and services they’ll need for the best possible start with their new family members.

KITTY ANGEL RESCUE RECEIVES $75,000 GRANT FROM PETSMART CHARITIES® TO HELP MORE HOMELESS PETS FIND HOMES IN GEORGIA

This grant will be used to fund expenses to prepare cats and kittens for adoption.
Powder Springs, Georgia – January 20, 2023 – Kitty Angel Rescue has received a $75,000 grant from PetSmart Charities to help prepare more homeless pets in Georgia for adoption. Some five million pets make their way into shelters each year in the U.S. With the help of this grant, the organization will be able to expand its’ rescue and adoption efforts to help more homeless pets find loving homes.
Georgia has an overwhelming pet overpopulation problem and has the sixth highest euthanasia rate in the country. A staggering 20,000 cats are euthanized in Georgia shelters each year. Founded in 2003, Kitty Angel Rescue is dedicated to reducing euthanasia by means rescue, adoption and education. The grant funding will allow the organization to rescue at least 1,750 cats in 2023 and find them loving, forever homes. All cats and kittens available for adoption are spayed or neutered and fully vetted prior to adoption. And to save even more lives, Kitty Angel Rescue will offer reduced adoption fees all year long.

Powder Springs, Georgia – January 30, 2022 – Kitty Angel Rescue has received a $60,000 grant from PetSmart Charities to help prepare more shelter pets in Georgia for adoption and ensure they are ready to find loving homes. With the help of this grant, the organization will be able to expand its’ rescue and adoption efforts to help more homeless pets find loving, forever homes.
Georgia has an overwhelming pet overpopulation problem and has the sixth highest euthanasia rate in the country. Over 20,000 cats are euthanized in Georgia animal shelters each year, which accounts for 69% of all the pets euthanized in the state. With a $60,000 grant from PetSmart Charities, Kitty Angel Rescue will be able to increase its’ support to the community by rescuing and adopting our more homeless pets in the area. Through the generous support of PetSmart Charities, Kitty Angel Rescue will be able to save at least 1,500 cats in 2022. All cats and kittens available for adoption will be spayed or neutered and fully vetted prior to adoption. And to facilitate more adoptions, this funding will allow the organization to offer reduced adoption fees.
“This generous grant from PetSmart Charities will allow us to make an even bigger impact in reducing pet homelessness in Georgia through adoption. With these life-saving funds, we will be able to expand our rescue and adoption efforts. And for every homeless pet adopted, two will be saved…the one being adopted and the one we will rescue in its’ place.
